In-person care route
Use the room to get the full story
An office visit gives you more ways to notice how the care works. It still helps to arrive with a short note and leave with exact names.

Bring the parts that change the decision
Bring the names of medicines and supplements you already use. Add past reactions, upcoming procedures and the health goal that brought you in.
If weight is part of the visit, it can help to name what success means besides a number on a scale: comfort, sleep, movement or a specific blood-test result such as blood sugar or cholesterol.
- Current medicines and supplements
- Past reactions or stomach trouble
- Upcoming procedures or pregnancy plans
- The result I want help with
Get the plan in names, not shorthand
Ask for the active ingredient—the medicine doing the work—and the brand name. Ask whether a pharmacy will make the medicine to order. Ask whether it is a pill or injection and why it is being used. Then ask what will be checked later and who answers if something changes.
If another pharmacy will fill the medicine, take its full name with you. That name can be checked through the state board.
- What exact product is planned?
- What result will the next visit review?
- Who handles questions between visits?
- What is the pharmacy’s full name?
